This waistcoat can also be used to comply with the law when travelling on the continent :
Motorists Driving to Italy or Spain (now) and Austria (from May 2005) require by law to carry an orange or yellow reflective jacket which conforms to European Standard EN471. This must be worn if the vehicle breaks down and the driver gets out onto the road to change a wheel, check under the bonnet or walk down the roadside to an emergency telephone.
